"Cabin and/or Cave Fever"

Film: Beast from Haunted Cave (1959)

Alias: None

Type: Unknown

Location: Mountain/Cave

Height/Weight: About the same as an average human.

Affiliation: Neutral

Summary: No matter where one goes, crime doesn't pay. One way or another, justice will bite and do it hard. And in the that horrific spider-like cave monster's case, quite literally.

History: No one really knows where this Cave Monster came from. All that was known was that it resided in a cave filled to the brim with valuable gold, occasionally coming out to find prey. The gold is what attracted a gang of ruthless crooks, and that meant only one thing for the beast that lurked within: Snack Time!

Notable Kills: We get the privilege of (sort of) seeing the beast suck the blood from its captured victims. Ouch.

Final Fate: Eventually, the thieves are drawn to the cave once again, and the monster does them in for good this time. However, the one that it deeply traumatized earlier manages to get a clear shot at it, lighting the beast on fire. The surviving innocents can only watch as the screaming monster is engulfed in flame.

Powers/Abilities: Despite being a clear arthropod, the beast can survive extremely cold temperatures and has limbs capable of lacerating foes.

Weakness: Anything conventional, especially fire.

Scariness Factor: 3-While it does have a somewhat intimidating appearance (and the Cave Tarantula scream to boot), the beast is somewhat hamstrung by shoddy movement and flailing of the arms.

Trivia: -There are a few arthropods that can stand extreme cold. Among them, of course, is the Cockroach, particularly the Alpine one.

-There was a third version of this film's story. It got used to make "Creature from the Haunted Sea" a few years later.

"I'm sorry, is this not how shoulder rubs work?"

He seems...madder than usual.

"Am I interrupting something?"
More like an apperance beyond words.

Feeding time turns out to be frightfully realistic here.
